Entrance doors and windows of historic buildings carry practical and aesthetic functions. On one hand these are stylistic elements, parts of building’s decorations. On the other hand they are used daily by the residents and depreciate a lot.

Many residents decide to fully replace old historic windows and doors which went blink with low quality plastic surrogate. However replacement of historic doors and windows in historic buildings with plastic is not only prohibited but also hurts your house and reduces the cost of real estate.

In the frame of the co-funding programm following measures were provided:

•    Historic doors and windows restoration
•    Reconstruction of historic doors (if the original piece has been lost)
•    Replacement of plastic windows with wooden ones

Who provides the financing?

•    GIZ Project – 70% of total amount
•    Residents – 30% of total amount
